B8: Summer vacation (holidays)

Hi everyone!

Today I'm going to talk to you about my summer vacation plans.

I have everything planned for this summer vacation. After finishing my classes at the university, I will return to San Clemente and go to rest for a couple of weeks, enjoy my family, my friends and my girlfriend.

After this, I will try to work to raise some money, because in January my girlfriend and I are going to go on vacation to the south of Chile. We will take a plane from Santiago to Puerto Montt and we will spend three weeks touring the different places, landscapes and cities.

 I still do not know the south of Chile and I've never traveled by plane, so I'm very excited, cause I think it's going to be a dream vacation for us! I want to take advantage of enjoying many places in the south with my girlfriend Katty, for example towns like Frutillar, Puerto Varas, Villarrica, or the different lakes of southern Chile and their beautiful landscapes.

We have a lot of plans to take advantage of summer! In the course of the year it is difficult for us to travel together, cause she and I study in different cities and different careers, that is why we are so anxious to realize our summer projects.

When I come back from the south, I also hope to spend time with my friends, and in general, what motivates me most is to be able to recharge my batteries to start a new academic year with everything.

B9: Changes to my study programme

Hi everyone!

I believe that the study program could have many basic changes and and fundamental improvements in the needs of university students. For example, have a study program that doesnt have too much academic load.

In this way the time could be used for to prepare the better works and to have a better quality. I also believe that it is necessary that the faculties enable a physical space so that students can rest and that this is enabled at all times.

Access to technological tools has to be for everyone. It isnt possible that a student cant perform the jobs that the university requires because there is not availability of technological equipment. It has happened to me many times and this makes me very angry.

Teaching methods can improve. Not everything should be so structured and boring. I believe that this can be changed. Currently we use social networks and the internet a lot. I think we should take advantage of this resource and in this way vary a bit the classical teaching methods.

I also think that is very important to review the curriculum of the career, because it is not very effective. For example, in my journalism career, I have to study some subjects that dont have much relation with my future profession. I dont like this, because I think that it is not necessary for journalism. There are things that I will never use in my work.

This is my opinion :)

B7: My favorite food

My favorite food is a combination of ingredients, it has french fries, meat, onions and fried egg, everything together is called "Chorrillana" and it is the best thing in life. We all know that this is not the healthiest thing in the world, but it is not something that we eat every day.

Every time that I have a little extra money, I call a couple of friends and invite them to eat a delicious "Chorrillana". This dish is a luxury and not any restaurant serves a good "Chorrillana".

I like to eat this dish in a single place in Chile, it is located in the center of Talca (in the seventh region of Maule) and its name is "Casa de Campo". This is a well-known restaurant in Talca and in the region, due to its location, its dishes and its style. It is a restaurant set like a real country house, with wide corridors, adorned with rural tools, such as rakes, shovels and wheels.

The Chorrillana has many variations in "Casa de Campo", you can order it with silver meat, mechada, bovine, pork or seafood. All this makes me never get bored eating this great dish. You can also ask for it in its individual or family version. We (with my friends) always ask for a Family Chorrillana for everyone, however, we can never leave the plate empty. We have come to the conclusion that we do not consume Chorrillana, CHORRILLANA TAKES US CONSUMERS.

B6: Postgraduate Studies

In the future, when I finish studying at the Institute of Communication and Image of the University of Chile, I would like to improve myself in a course on communication and sports.

The main reasons for doing this course are the fanaticism that I have for sport and football mainly, also because I plan to work in this area of ​​journalism in the future, it can be on the radio, the written press or television.

I would like to carry out a course that gives me the tools for sports communication, for example language, expressions and dialogues. Also a course that includes communication through social networks, because this tool is very important in these times of the Internet and globalization.

I would like to study abroad. I have thought of leading countries in sport, such as Spain, Argentina, Brazil or Italy. I want to do a face-to-face course, in order to learn more effectively, so that I can get to know the country.

I believe that when I finish my studies at this university, I will work for a while and then I will do this course abroad, in this way I will have money to pay the costs.

B5: My future job

When I finish my journalism studies here at the University of Chile, I would like to work in an important media. At this moment I am very interested in radio, so I would like to work in some informative radio, both nationally and internationally, such as Radio Bío-Bío or Radio Cooperativa.

I imagine myself working in the sports area, which is what I like the most and I think it is the area where I would do my job better, because I like sports and I am very excited to be able to work on this. This area would allow me to work in radio studios, but also outside of it, covering sports from stadiums, gyms and all sports venues.

I would like to travel throughout Chile doing my job and also around the world, covering championships, South American, world and Olympic games. I believe that the salary is not going to be the ideal at the beginning, but I honestly dont care much. I prefer to work on something that I love and with a fair salary, instead of doing something I dont like.

B4: It

"It" is a movie this year and is based on the Stephen King novel of 1986. It tells the story of seven children in Derry, Maine, who are terrorized by a clown named Pennywise who lives in the sewer, but who also appears in different places.

When the children begin to disappear in the city of Derry, Maine, a group of young children confront their greatest fears when facing the evil clown, whose history of murder and violence dates back centuries.

 My favorite character is Bill, because his personality is funny, I also like the effort he makes to overcome his fears and his difficulty speaking.

One thing that I liked about the movie was the great production, effects and animation that it has, which makes it a great movie. What I didnt like was the "terror" scenes, because it honestly didnt scare me at all.

My favorite scene is when Bill and his friends decide to enter the terrifying house, because it caused curiosity during the film and they decide to face, among all, their fears and fears.

The film causes me division, first because I liked the production, the characters and the effects, but I didnt like it because I expected to be scared enough, something that did not happen.
