Moonlight is a film of drama and of American origin, was
released in 2016. The film tells the childhood, adolescence and maturity of
Chiron, an African-American child, absent father, who lives in a troubled
neighborhood of Miami.
The film shows the difficulties that Chiron has to relate to
the people around him, and how he addresses his feelings and his homosexuality.
My favorite character is Juan, head of a group that is
dedicated to drug trafficking. I like his character because he cares about
Chiron, his problems in school and the drama that lives in his house.
My favorite scene is when Juan invites Chiron to eat at
home, along with his girlfriend Teresa. They try everything for Chiron to speak
a word (until then the child didnt say anything), but he only devotes himself
to eat desperately.
What I liked about the movie was that it is the first
LGBT-themed film. What I didnt like was the simplicity of the film, due to the
low budget of this.
In short, the film did like me, mainly because of its theme
and because it is a film with a cast consisting entirely of black actors and
actresses.
